This Privacy Policy explains what information Notes collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written to reflect exactly what the app does — nothing more, nothing less.
Summary
Your notes, attachments, and app-lock password are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. There are no accounts and no note-publishing/sharing feature.
The optional AI Assistant runs entirely on your device — your notes are never sent to us or to any AI company to generate a response.
On first launch, the App asks for your name and logs basic usage analytics (a random device ID, app version, and how long you use the app per session) to our backend provider, Supabase, so we can see how the app is being used.
The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects device/advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads (see Section 6).
We do not use any other analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information stored only on your device (never sent to us)
Notes content — titles, text, checklists, tables, colors/backgrounds, and formatting, stored locally using an on-device database (Hive).
Attachments — photos, videos, and voice memos you add to a note, saved to the app's local storage folder on your device.
App-lock password — if you set a password to open the app, only a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of it is stored on your device. We never see or store your actual password, and it is not sent anywhere.
Reminders — dates/times you set for note reminders are stored locally and used only to schedule notifications on your device.
App settings and preferences (theme, sort order, onboarding status, etc.).
The App has no accounts, no sign-in, and no feature to publish or share a note outside the device — your notes and attachments never leave your device through the App itself.
1.2 Usage analytics (sent to Supabase)
On first launch, before you can use the App, you're asked to enter a name. This — along with some basic technical details — is sent to our backend provider, Supabase, so we can see how the App is being used. Specifically:
The name you enter — used only as a label for this device's usage data; it isn't used to gate or personalize anything in the App.
A randomly generated device ID — created on your device the first time you open the App and stored locally. It is not your device's advertising ID or any other hardware identifier, and it resets if you reinstall the App.
App version you're running.
Session timestamps and duration — when you open and background the App, and how long each session lasted (very short sessions, such as a brief permission-dialog interruption, aren't logged).
Last-seen timestamp, updated each session.
This data lets us see, in aggregate, how many people use the App, how often, for how long, and on which app version — it is not used for advertising, profiling, or personalization. If the App is offline when this data would sync, it's simply skipped for that session; entering a name is still required to continue past first launch, but the App otherwise works fully offline as described in Section 7.
1.3 Device permissions
The App requests the following permissions, only for the features you actively use:
Permission
Why it's requested
Microphone
To record voice memo attachments you choose to add to a note
Camera
To let you take a photo directly from within the App to attach to a note
Photos / Videos / Storage
To let you pick existing images or videos to attach to a note, and to save/export/open files (e.g. PDF export)
Notifications
To show local reminder notifications for notes you've scheduled, and for the optional "Quick Assistant" notification shortcut
Media and audio you capture stay on your device and are never uploaded anywhere by the App.
2. The On-Device AI Assistant
The App includes an optional AI Assistant that helps you create, edit, find, and organize notes using natural language.
The assistant runs a language model entirely on your device (downloaded once from Hugging Face, a public model-hosting service, the first time you enable the feature).
Your notes and prompts to the assistant are processed locally and are not transmitted to us or to any AI company.
The only network activity related to this feature is the one-time download of the model file itself, which does not include any of your personal data.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
Provide core app functionality (storing and organizing your notes locally);
Understand basic usage of the App — how many people use it, how often, and for how long (Section 1.2);
Serve and measure advertising, as described in Section 6.
We do not use your information for our own advertising or profiling, and we do not operate any other analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the App.
4. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party service providers:
Supabase (our backend provider for the usage analytics described in Section 1.2. Supabase stores this data on our behalf and processes it according to its own privacy and security policies: supabase.com/privacy).
Hugging Face (used only to download the AI model file; no personal or note data is sent).
Google AdMob (used to display in-app advertising; see Section 6).
We do not share your information with data brokers, and we do not sell your personal information.
5. Data Storage & Security
Local data (notes, attachments, password hash, settings) is stored in the App's private storage area on your device and is not accessible to other apps.
The usage analytics described in Section 1.2 (name, device ID, app version, session data) is stored on Supabase's infrastructure; we do not separately duplicate it on our own servers.
App-lock passwords are never stored or transmitted in plain text.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Advertising
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process:
Your advertising identifier (e.g. Android Advertising ID) and general device information (device model, operating system, language, screen size);
IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it;
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and engagement with ads shown in the App).
This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, according to Google's own privacy and advertising policies:
Depending on your region (e.g. the EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions with similar requirements), you may be shown a consent prompt before ads are personalized, and you can choose whether to allow personalized advertising. You can also:
Opt out of personalized ads and reset your advertising identifier in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (Android) or equivalent;
Notes content, attachments, and the usage-analytics data described in Section 1.2 are not shared with AdMob or any advertiser — only the device/advertising data described above, collected directly by the AdMob SDK, is involved.
7. Your Choices
You can use the App entirely offline after the initial name entry — no internet connection is required for any core note-taking feature.
You can deny any individual device permission (camera, microphone, photos, notifications); the related feature simply won't be available.
You can export or delete your notes locally at any time.
You can request deletion of the usage-analytics data associated with your device (name, device ID, and session history) by contacting us at abhaybhagat170@gmail.com.
You can opt out of personalized advertising as described in Section 6.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App's ads are not configured to be child-directed, and we do not knowingly serve personalized ads to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at abhaybhagat170@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective date." Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
